#89 - Beliefs are like a Road Map

Our beliefs shape the way we experience our lives. As our beliefs accumulate, we live our lives in a way that reflects what we have learned to believe.  We were not born with any of our beliefs. All our beliefs are formed based on our experiences at some point in our life’s. Our beliefs come from our surroundings parents, relatives, friends, TV and the society we live in.



Imagine how different your life would be if you had been born into a different culture, religion, or political system. If you have travelled to a different country, you would have experienced a culture shock.  Your beliefs about the world dictate the choices you make and actions you take.  Your choice and actions determine the results you achieve. I have a simple analogy to illustrate the impact of beliefs on your life.


Imagine your beliefs as a map. The choices you have based on your beliefs are like the road paths, you have on a map.

The action you take based on choices is like the direction you travel per the road path. The results you get based on your beliefs is the destination you arrive at based on the Road you have been following.









It is vital to understand that our actions and decisions are all driven by the beliefs. Some beliefs are extremely empowering while others are very limiting. The first step to becoming successful is to identify and be aware of the beliefs that hold you back, your limiting beliefs. Design the map which takes you to your desired destination.
