#91 - Take care of your vehicle
“Treat your body like a temple, not a woodshed”
For at least 3 years of my life I “CHOSE” to be 30 pounds’ overweight. Now the reason why I say I “CHOSE” to be, it’s because I never accidentally ate that Big Mac or KFC Big Daddy meal. It was always a choice. I mean I could have said no, but all the time I gave into short-term gratification and rationalized my decision.

We humans are only given one physical body on the earth. I am certain if you had one car for life, you would invest time, energy, labor and mental power to ensure that the parts of your car are in good health and work efficiently for what you require the car to do.
When our car breaks down, our first response is to go get the best mechanic and get it fixed. But with our body, we do the freaking opposite. Instead of going to see the doctor or starting an exercise/eating plan, we take pharmaceutical pills to mask the problem. This is an extremely dangerous way to treat your body as all you do is mask the problem and suppress it more. I am sure that we have all met some imbecile, who always brags about his car. You know, “0 -60 in 3.666 sec, 500 Horsepower.” Some people value their car more than their body. They will spend hundreds of pounds on service, adding new upgrades & new gadgets. However, when it comes to looking after their physical health, the person usually looks like a pear-shaped potato. I am not judging the person based on their appearances, but merely asking a question. Which is:

When was the last time you had a medical check-up or invested some money in improving your health?
Treat your body as the most important equipment in the world, because from your point of view it is. I say this because everything depends on your health. Wealth is no good if you neglect your health. You cannot enjoy the riches you gained by hard work, due to poor health. Imagine your family and friends going skiing or going on a roller coaster but you can’t go because you are overweight or ill. Take care of your body it is the only place you have to live.
Garbage in = Garbage out
Quality food in = Quality work out
Keeping a well-balanced diet with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, reducing stress, getting enough sleep, getting fresh air and enough exercise. These are the very fundamentals of a healthy life. They are the necessities for a healthy body. Take care of your health, because most of the time spirit is willing to act but the body(vehicle) is tired.
