#97 - Be Careful of Media's Influence

In this day and age, the media has the potential to mold and influence the belief systems of its viewers in just about any way they want. The media is essentially a business and remember like all businesses, they are out to make a profit. One of the ways they make profit is by attracting a large audience each and every day is by over dramatising news, focusing on negative/fearful headlines to generate attention. The best way to hook a person is to keep doing something which impact’s them emotionally. There is saying if it bleeds it leads.

Mainstream media gives a toxic view of the world, news stories are designed for the amygdala. The amygdala is responsible for the perception of emotions such as anger, fear, and sadness. if you are watching the news all day, you are likely loading your mind with a lot of negative sensational fear-based energy. This type of input tends to overload and overwhelm majority of the people. Be wary of what goes into your mind.

Garbage in = Garbage out
